Boone learning to swim

We have not seen a dog so bad at swimming... He would jump in and trap the ball with his hands on the bottom of the lake and then try to dive for it head first instead of just grabbing it out of the water. I didn't get a picture but all you could see was his tail. He would stay down so long and come up squirting water out of his nose... He then realized he could go further out and not swim if he stood on his back legs. So imagine a dog walking upright in the water holding his hands out so the didn't get wet... He would wait like that until we threw the ball. It was hilarious, he would just bounce and bob on his back feet and then dive for the ball. I actually held his hand on the way back and he walked on back legs! He will get better, at least he is no longer afraid of boats in the water.
